On August 25th, 2021, we held our first ever virtual fundraiser on the Zoom platform under the title “Help Lebanese Children Stay in School.” During the event, which ran for 1 hour and 11 minutes, the main points of discussion revolved around the current Lebanese financial crisis, its devastating effect on the education sector, and the Atallah Foundation’s agenda vis-à-vis the underlying subject. The conversation was held between the following attendees, speakers, and guests of honor:
- The Board of Directors of the Atallah Foundation
- Rima Tony Maalouf, Director of Our Lady of the Tower School (Deir El Ahmar)
- Paul Sobhi Keirouz, Director of the National Maronite School (Baalbek)
- Marie Raymond Abi Habib, Director of the Ste. Famille Maronite School (Zahle)
The guests of honor:
- Attorney Bill Shaheen, Former US Attorney and District Court Judge
- US Ambassador Edward Gabriel, President of the American Task Force for Lebanon
- Charlie Hanna, CEO and owner of Cedars Foods USA
- Joe Khalil, founder and executive director of Empower Lebanon
The event turned out to be an absolute success. The discussion was truly illuminating, helping us shape a deeper understanding of the situation and a clearer vision of the mission ahead.
