Following the success of our previous IV serum and food box distribution in the town of Deir El Ahmar in the Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon, we set out to deliver an additional 200 nutritional food boxes to more families in desperate need of aid (to learn about the Lebanese Crisis check out our previous post).
The first few weeks following our initial health and nutrition relief campaign in Deir El Ahmar, we spent collecting information on the most affected families. Then, a few days prior to the distribution day, with the delightful assistance of a group of lively young volunteers, we packaged the rations and rehearsed our planned trajectory.
On the morning of September 19th, 2021, we loaded the food boxes onto our trucks and started on our distribution mission, which would take us 3 days to complete. We have successfully handed out 200 healthy food boxes, hoping to sustain the most deprived families in the underprivileged Bekaa Valley region.
